Depot

A home for your audio. And for my ideas.

Depot gives a home to audio worth keeping: voice messages, recordings and files received in other apps. It brings them together in a personal library on iPhone and iPad, ready to find and listen to again, even offline. I built the original application entirely myself, taking care of both the user experience and development.

From an app to a product lab

Depot is the project where I follow an idea from start to finish: choosing features, designing the journeys, writing the code and checking the result. Working on my own product means caring about the interface, accessibility and reliability together. Even a simple action, such as saving or editing an audio file, takes attention to what happens before and after.

Codex’s agentic mode has helped me explore more involved solutions and take the product further. I use it to compare approaches, develop new features and check how they behave. Product direction, decisions and final verification remain my responsibility. The app is native, built with Swift and SwiftUI, and I design it for the different spaces and ways of using iPhone and iPad.

Where it stands today

From the Share menu in the apps you use, you can bring an audio file into Depot, give it a title and add a description. Search helps you find it when you need it. The library stays on your device, works offline and does not require an account.

The mini-player lets you keep exploring your library while the audio continues, even when you use other apps or lock the screen.

When you would rather read, you can transcribe an audio file and translate its text into supported languages. You can compare the original and translation and reopen saved results without repeating the transcription or translation. Processing takes place on your device, free of charge. Local First, always!

You can share an individual audio file or collect several into a ZIP. Depot Archives let you keep and reimport audio along with its titles and descriptions, without having to organise everything again from scratch.

Statistics show how many audio files you keep, how much space they take up and which ones you listen to or share most: a way to understand and keep track of your library.

The cherry on top: Studio!

Studio lets you edit the audio files you have saved: remove sections, duplicate passages, join audio files or change their speed while preserving the voice’s natural pitch. All with a one-time in-app purchase.
