Poste Business

Evolving an app and helping the team grow.

Poste Business is Poste Italiane’s app for professionals and small and medium-sized businesses, supporting accounts, cards, payments and collections. As a Capgemini employee, I work on iOS development and provide technical leadership for the team. My contribution includes developing features, working with the client and following requests through to release.

From product needs to release

A feature begins before the code. I support requirements analysis, prepare estimates and contribute to planning, making the expected behaviour and technical implications clear. I work directly on the iOS client and collaborate with Android and backend teams to address integrations and dependencies across the product.

The work continues through testing, user acceptance with the client and production support. I follow issues, contribute to their analysis and coordinate with the teams involved, including when a hotfix is needed. Understanding how the app works beyond a single screen helps connect each decision to its impact on the people using it.

I have also worked on build and release processes: separate Simulator and Device targets, device-only dependencies and adjustments to Fastlane lanes. I restored the Jenkins pipeline, which runs XCTest unit tests and sends metrics to SonarQube, giving the team a more reliable foundation for preparing releases.

The migration: modernisation and accessibility

The migration from UIKit to SwiftUI is the most significant case in this journey. I designed the architecture and led an incremental transition in which the two technologies coexisted, allowing the app to evolve while releases continued. Modernisation involved the screens, shared components and the way the code was organised. The iOS client is now entirely built with SwiftUI and in production.

The modular foundation, using MVVM, Coordinator and dependency injection, is designed to make responsibilities clearer and support future development. I built reusable SwiftUI components and modernised dependency management with Swift Package Manager, favouring Apple frameworks and APIs where possible.

Accessibility is part of this work: controls with names and hints that make sense in VoiceOver, adaptive text, orientation support and layouts that accommodate content of different lengths. Building these considerations into common components carries them across screens. Checks with VoiceOver, Accessibility Inspector and static and dynamic testing accompanied the improvement process.

Leading means sharing

Alongside technical responsibility, I work on how the team approaches problems. I introduced Scrum, broke work into more manageable steps and encouraged parallel development, sharing the context needed to make decisions. Planning and discussion also help surface questions earlier and distribute responsibility more effectively.

Mentoring and feedback are part of everyday work. I want people to understand the reasoning behind a choice and gain the tools to make the next one independently. An evolving app needs a sound technical foundation and a team able to build on it. For me, these develop together.
